Gilali Winery

Gilali Winery

Gilali Winery was founded in the early 1960s, by the family Papadimitriou, just to the southeast of Mt. Olympus, in the beautiful, mountainous Rapsani. They are dedicated to traditional winemaking and sustainable practices and captures the essence of its region, offering an authentic expression of Rapsani’s rich viticultural heritage.

Location and Terroir
Nestled on the southeastern slopes of Mount Olympus, Gilali Winery benefits from a unique microclimate shaped by cooling mountain breezes, abundant sunlight, and drained soils. The Mediterranean influence combines with the rugged terrain to create ideal conditions for cultivating indigenous Greek grape varieties.

The vines producing grapes for Gilali Winery are organic and biodynamic, and only make enough grapes for the relatively small production in the area of 3.000 bottles of rosé and 3.500 bottles of red wine.

Philosophy
At Gilali Winery, the philosophy centers on preserving Rapsani’s winemaking traditions while integrating modern, sustainable methods. The winery prioritizes biodynamic farming and minimal intervention, allowing the land’s natural characteristics to shine through in its wines.

Notable Wines
